Detailed itinerary

DAY 1- Arrival Aktau

Arrival at Aktau International Airport. After border control and luggage collection, meet your local guide holding a personalized name sign. Private transfer to your hotel with early check-in included, allowing time to rest after your flight.

Lunch at the hotel at 12:30.

At 13:30, start exploring Aktau. Walk along the scenic Rocky Trail, offering beautiful views of the Caspian Sea. Enjoy a short private boat cruise, admiring the coastline and fresh sea breeze.

Visit the Abish Kekilbayev Regional Museum to discover Mangystau’s history and culture. Then drive about 20 km outside the city (30–40 minutes) for a horse-riding experience.

Stop at a local artisan boutique for authentic handmade souvenirs. End the day with a relaxing seaside dinner while watching the sunset over the Caspian Sea.

DAY 2-  Aktau - Torysh - Kok-kala - Sherkala – Airakty 

After breakfast at 10:00, depart Aktau for an off-road adventure through Mangystau.

First, visit Torysh Valley (Valley of Balls), where hundreds of giant round stone formations, created millions of years ago, are spread across the steppe.

Continue to Kok-kala, known for its colourful Jurassic clay hills, where petrified wood and traces of ancient forests can be found. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

Next, stop at Sherkala Mountain, a unique rock formation that resembles a yurt or a lion from different angles.

End the day at Airakty (Valley of Castles), where natural rock formations look like ancient towers and fortresses — perfect for photos 📸.

In the evening, set up camp and enjoy dinner.

DAY 3-  Airakty – Karatau Canyon – Tuzbair

At 08:00, breakfast at the camp before departing to Karatau.

Enjoy a hike through Karatau Canyon, known for its red-brown cliffs, small waterfalls, and fresh stream creating an oasis-like landscape.

Lunch at a roadside café in Zharmysh village.

After lunch, continue to Tuzbair, famous for its dramatic white chalk cliffs overlooking a vast salt flat. The unique formations and panoramic views make it one of Mangystau’s most impressive locations.

DAY 4-  Tuzbair – Bozzhyra

Start the day with a field breakfast before heading to the famous Bozzhyra Valley, one of Mangystau’s most spectacular natural wonders.

First, visit the Martian Panorama, offering surreal desert landscapes and endless white cliffs. Continue to the Upper Panorama, where the iconic Bozzhyra fangs (twin limestone peaks) appear — perfect for photos.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint. Then walk to the Middle Panorama for another impressive perspective of the fangs.

In the evening, arrive at the foot of the Bozzhyra cliffs, set up camp, and enjoy dinner with stunning sunset views.

DAY 5-  Bozzhyra – Bokty – Kyzylkup – Zhanaozen – Ibikty Sai – Aktau

Breakfast in the field at Bozzhyra before continuing the journey.

Stop at Bokty Mountain, a famous natural formation featured on the 1,000 tenge note.

Visit Kyzylkup (Tiramisu Hills), known for its colourful red, white, and yellow layered landscape.

Drive to Zhanaozen for lunch at a local café.

After lunch, explore Ibikty Sai Canyon, a scenic area with beautiful rock formations and short walking opportunities.

Return to Aktau in the afternoon. Free evening by the Caspian Sea.

DAY 6- Aktau – departure

After breakfast, transfer to Aktau International Airport. Farewell at the airport, with warm wishes that Mangystau will be remembered as a place of discovery and inspiration. End of Mangystau Classic Adventure Tour.

  • 2 nights of four-star hotel accommodation in Aktau, on a bed-and-breakfast 

  • 3 nights in tents at the Airakty, Tuzbair salt flat and Bozzhyra Valley (2 persons per tent).

  • All meals 

  • All airport transfers.

  • Private air-conditioned transport with driver, as per the programme:
    - 1-2 passengers - jeep (up to 3 seats).
    - 3-8 passengers - minivan (up to 10 seats).
    - 9-15 passengers - two minivans (up to 10 seats each).

  • Jeep tour in Mangystau - 4x4 vehicles, Toyota 4Runner or similar (3 passengers per vehicle).
